Every once in a while a dog stops me in my tracks.
This dog is dripping with breed type; masculine; and has all the angles, proportions, etc. that even the harshest critics can't ignore.

About Maddox
Maddox is an exceptional masculine Ridgeback, with strong bones and superb construction, very elegant and fluid movement followed by great reach and drive typical for Ridgebacks. He is a true combination of power and elegance that simply radiates his entire appearance. He is just one of those special dogs that take your breath away and he cannot stay unnoticed.
On most Rhodesian Ridgeback club and Speciality shows judged by breed experts, he is mostly on the Top.
He is extremely calm and has stable character, curious and open-minded, and loves to work, without the slightest trace of aggression toward other dogs. But, if there is an arrogant dog approaching, he will respond. He is not a dog who wants to please.
He is looking for the partnership and enjoys working no matter what the task is. Also, he is pretty independent in thinking, he is asking the questions and chooses when he wants to be cuddled or not. In that way he is pretty like a cat.
Like typical Ridgeback, he is reserved to strangers, but after few minutes he is ready to kiss you. He does not like when someone is trying to force the contact or going into his space . If you do so, he will show you "the finger" and go away. He loves to decide when is the moment for making a friendship.
Maddox has strong guarding and hunting instincts and there is no chance that anything is going around our fence without his 100% control. He has strong nose and scanning eyes so there is nothing to be missed.
He is infinitely intelligent and very quickly understands how to react or solve the task assigned to him and he is doing it with lot of joy.
What is not typical for Rhodesians, Maddox is completely crazy for swimming and he can be in the sea for hours, and yes...he loves to fetch the ball.
He is completely loving, playful, kind, innocent, sweet and clean in his head but very independent.
His emotional curve is balanced and he is never overexcited.
If I could describe him with two words,
it would be definitely: "YO! Bro!"
He is for sure the coolest dog I have ever had.
